The Bunkhouse Lodge is situated in a beautiful area of Colorado. Located 3 miles (5km) north from Breckenridge, the Bunkhouse is near many beautiful places such as Lake Dillon and the town of Frisco. While at the Bunkhouse, you will be only 12 miles from Keystone and 15 miles from Arapahoe Basin.
Colorado Mountain Express (Web Site) Toll-Free: 1-800-525-6363 Local: 970-926-9800 Fax: 970-926-9786 An easy and worry-free means of getting here. The shuttle will drop you off right at the Bunkhouse. Make reservations before you fly-in to Denver. Once at the Bunkhouse you can use the Summit Stage, a wonderful and FREE bus service which runs from town to town to: Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Dillon, Dillon Valley, Frisco, Keystone and Silverthorne. For schedule information and stop times the number is 970-668-0999. Summit Stage stops in front of the Bunkhouse. The shuttle will also take you to the ski lifts, a much better way than driving since there are never any parking spaces near the ski lifts (unless you get up at 5 a.m. to go skiing). While the Summit Stage provides transport between the main areas of the county, local bus systems are available to take you around the towns--also for free. So, wherever you want to go in Summit County, chances are that you can get there easily and free of charge. Taxi service is also available. From Denver take Highway I-70 West. Exit Rte. 9 South, Frisco and Breckenridge exit #203 (about 70 miles west from Denver). Follow Route 9 through Frisco toward Breckenridge, after passing the lake (lake Dillon) you'll see a new high school on your right. From that traffic light there we are exactly 3.0 miles. Recently another traffic light has been installed at Tiger Run Road, from there we are just a short distance. The road will change back to 2 lanes from 4, just before that happens you will see a diamond shaped yellow sign indicating an intersection(+) with "Fairview Blvd." Under it, that is where you will be turning right for us. Stay in the right lane and turn right just after the huge flags (see the photo of what you'll see from the highway). There will be a bunch of wooden bears there. Drive right past "High Country Furniture" into our parking lot where the road dead ends and park there. (Corral Style lot with a cow skull hanging over it.) Get out of the car, look back toward the Highway 9 and we are at 2 o'clock about 100 yards away, you'll see a big stockade fence (photo) with wagon wheels hanging and a rainbow flag, that's us. If you get lost, just call us at970-453-6475. |
